The 1st Bug-In was organised by the then Volkswagen Australasia Pty Ltd in Albury, NSW, on the Australia Day Weekend, 1970. The Bug-In consisted of a race meeting at Hume Weir race circuit, a grass motorkhana on the banks of the Murray River, a car trial and a social trip to Falls Creek snowfields in northern Victoria. This has been the one and only Bug-In, (so far) which has featured snow. In 2007 Tasmania joined the event. Convoy 2011

Every Month the club puts on an event all are welcome to join in the fun. Each month is different and anyone can make suggestions or organise an event.

On the first Wednesday of every month there is an informal gathering of VW enthusiasts at Alfred's Kitchen in Guildford from 7pm onwards. A chance to just hang out and chat VW's and have a burger or Alfred's famous pea and ham soup! Haven't been before?

Each state holds it's own Day of the Volkswagen (DofVW) regularly across Australia. The Shannons Day of the Volkswagen is the biggest show of the year in the WA Volkswagen Calendar.
We plan to make it bigger and better every year with your help. Whether you just come along to look around or you bring along your own V-Dub to show it off, it is such an enjoyable day. So come help make the WA DofVW the best in the country!

The 2011 Bug-In hosted by the Volkswagen Club of Western Australia Inc will be held in Toodyay, WA from Friday 22nd April to Monday 25th April. Click here for more details. Planning includes a pre-bug-in Convoy (18th-22nd April) and a post Bug-In Road Trip (26th-30th April).
