DRIVE YOUR VW TO WORK DAY
The first Drive Your VW to Work Day was set over 25 years ago, by a number of Volkswagen fan clubs around the world.
Each year the event falls on the same day as the worldwide celebration of the VW Beetle, and June 22 was chosen as the annual date as it marks the anniversary of the signing of the original VW contract in 1934.
It was established back in 1995 by Dr Bernd Wiersch, from the Auto Museum Volkswagen; Heinz Willy Lottermann, collector of VWs and promoter of the events of Bad Camberg; and Alexander Gromow a historian and lover of VWs who had the original idea for the yearly celebration.
Drive Your VW to Work Day is a great opportunity to get your classic (or modern) Volkswagen out on the road and give yourself a more enjoyable commute than you might have in your ‘daily driver’.
