Margaret River Camp and Cruise
I hope you have your camping gear packed. The awesome VW Cub of WA, cruise and camping weekend in Margaret River never disappoints.
This event is open to all VW Enthusiasts, not just club members.
Saturday is when it all happens, starting with a morning gathering for photos on the big Valley drive before setting out on a cruise through the unique Margaret River region. Our first stop will be morning coffee at Yahava Coffee in Margaret River. This will be followed by a visit to Leeuwin Estate Winery for a tasting and winery tour, organised by Margaret River local and club member Chris Woolven, thanks Chris. We will then cruise along the picturesque Caves Rd on our way to our lunch stop. Lunch will be at the Beer Farm Brewery, Metricup, at 1pm. After lunch, the afternoon is yours to further explore the region at your leisure before heading back to the Big Valley Campsite. Our Big Valley family have pulled out all the stops this year to ensure our Saturday night is awesome. They have organised a food truck, so no need to cook dinner. Bullich Vale Wines will be there with wine for sale, so drinks are sorted. And to keep us entertained, they have organised a local musician, Squid, to provide us with some toe-tapping entertainment while we sit around the campfire sipping our wine.
We have reserved 20 powered sites at the picturesque Big Valley Campsite, Rosa Glenn, near Margaret River. Please book and pay ASAP to guarantee we are camped together. Call the campsite directly on 9757 5020 and let them know you are with the VW Club of WA (sites are held in the name of Di Cuder). Well-behaved dogs on leads are permitted if they are supervised at all times as it is a working farm with other animals.
For those staying a little longer, we are looking at running a casual cruise on Sunday. More details regarding this cruise will be provided at the camp.
Big Valley Campsite and The Beer Farm are both dog-friendly venues.
Please make your own way down as there is no group cruise organised. We recommend going down on Friday 31st of October. But come as early as you like and stay as long as you want, you won't regret it.
The Sport Aircraft Builders Club of WA have invited us to attend their annual Fly-in at Serpentine Airfield this Sunday. This is a rush event as I only heard about this yesterday. The cruise will commence at Wells Park, Kwinana Beach, arrive by 08:30 for a 09:00am departure. We will then cruise to the airfield together and enjoy the day. I need to provide the organisers with details of the people attending, if you want to go to this event you need to Register Via our website or Member Jungle. ...
